Innovator of the Year: PepsiCo

This year’s top honor goes to PepsiCo, a global food and drinks leader serving millions of consumers daily with a diverse portfolio of products. Seeing an opportunity to modernize legacy on-premises Master Data Management and Data Governance systems, PepsiCo embarked on its Enterprise Data Foundation initiative to build a unified, AI-centric data infrastructure that drives smarter decision-making and operational efficiency.

PepsiCo transformed data governance into an AI-enabled, scalable operating model that increases trust and speed in how data is used across the enterprise. By modernizing onto Informatica’s IDMC platform, PepsiCo consolidated fragmented tools into a unified, AI-enabled foundation for data cataloging, quality, and master data management – reducing operational complexity and cost. This shift enabled self-service data access through the Data Marketplace and CLAIRE GPT, empowering users to quickly discover and confidently use trusted data, resulting in faster time to insights. Standardized workflows and intelligent automation streamlined core governance processes — such as cataloging, data quality monitoring, and assessments — improving the depth and consistency of metadata critical for AI-ready data, while reducing manual effort, and enabling earlier detection and resolution of data issues. Collectively, these improvements strengthened data reliability, accelerated analytics delivery, and enhanced PepsiCo’s readiness to scale AI and data-driven innovation.
